A new ultrasound machine at Lugo Hospital, thanks to ICEL's contribution to the Women's Shelter Association

ICEL contributed to the donation of a new high-performance, high-resolution ultrasound machine to the Oncological Prevention Center of Umberto I Hospital in Lugo.

The new equipment was inaugurated on March 3rd and was donated alongside associations, entrepreneurs, and citizens of the Lugo area.

The new instrumentation, which we wholeheartedly invested in, will enable the Center to continue its work with increasingly updated means, facilitating the work of doctors and nurses in cancer prevention.

The Oncological Prevention Center (CPO) in Lugo serves the entire province of Ravenna, performing approximately 53,000 mammograms annually, including screenings and clinical services, and about 16,000 visits. It generally targets women aged 40 and above for radiological services, while clinical-ultrasound breast examinations can be performed at any age, depending on the needs. In particular, in the Lugo area, where 52,872 women reside, the CPO performed 14,123 mammograms (8,873 screenings and 5,250 clinical), 4,876 ultrasounds, 585 ultrasound-guided needle aspirations and micro-biopsies, 518 radiological micro-biopsies (mammotone), and 232 MRIs in the last year.
