New Recognition for ICEL Scpa.

The Lugo-based cooperative is indeed the winner of the first edition of the 'Procurement and Supply Management Excellence Awards 2019' in the 'Spending Analysis' category"

ICEL has been awarded for the "Purchasing Innovation" project, which encompasses the most significant improvement activities implemented by ICEL in the last 12 months and has achieved the greatest results in terms of economic outcomes and the degree of efficiency attained in the involved business processes.

The project's intervention areas include activities for cost analysis and reduction; reorganization and evolution of the Purchasing, Logistics, and Supply Chain function; sustainability and reduction of environmental impact; innovation of methods and IT tools to support the purchasing process; evaluation and risk management for the Purchasing function through the introduction and development of a new risk-based thinking approach

n particular, thanks to this project, costs for transportation and packaging have been reduced, some modifications have been made to plant facilities, such as the purchase of more modern components for greater energy efficiency, excessive use of raw materials has been downsized, "non-core" activities have been reorganized, eco-sustainable interventions have been developed, new business management tools have been created with enhanced IT support, and a new management system and virtual assistant have been implemented for the automation of querying operations and routine tasks.

Lastly, a new risk-based thinking approach has been adopted to mitigate potentially blocking or high-impact situations on Purchasing activities.

The results not only have a significant economic impact and efficiency in products and processes but are also the result of a new approach and method of developing improvement interventions spread across all levels of the company, as evidenced by the involvement and contribution of the entire structure

The recognition was collected in recent days in Stresa (VB) by Monica Mancini, internal audit of ICEL, and Raffaele Mazzoli, purchasing manager of ICEL

"The Excellence Award is a great recognition for our company, demonstrating that through innovation and teamwork, significant results can be achieved," stated Andrea Babini, President of ICEL.

ICEL thus consolidates its position as a pioneering company, paying particular attention to the control of production processes and the use of high-quality raw materials to ensure excellent performance for our customers with constant attention to the environment." The Excellence Award adds to the recent "Excelsa – Romagna Award," an initiative by Confindustria Romagna aimed at giving visibility to the best practices in the main sectors of business.
